Networking and Practice Support
This section of the website is about youth homelessness workers connecting to each other, information sharing and providing and receiving peer support via regional information provided in the section, as well as via online forums and blogs (not available on the test site but will be included in the project plan to DHS).
In this section you will find information on programs and services, networks, events/forums and projects by each DHS region.
You will also find under the Practitioner Support section an (inactive) online forums option and blog, as well as information and resources in relation to practitioner support in the youth homelessness service sector on topics such as well-being, supervision and workforce development issues and updates.
There is also opportunity to review and explore challenging case studies from the worker’s perspective and to provide input and suggestions to improve practice when dealing with challenging or difficult situations with clients.
Every effort has been made to keep the information and resources provided here strictly on the topic of youth homelessness, however some will be related to generalist homelessness and/or youth work more generally.
The information and resources in this section provide initial information only and are a starting point for the further development – with your input - of the Networking/Practitioner Support section.
If you would like to see something added here, it’s likely that others would too. Remember to provide your feedback below.
